It’s written about my struggles with depression when at university. I was invited to a party away from home that I couldn’t avoid and there I met someone who was like a light in the dark, he made me feel like I could 'go out' again after not wanting to for so long so this is an ode to him.
lyrics
I'd been feeling out of sorts baby
I'd not left the house, eaten out
I'd not taken no calls
But then I met you at that party
Where I was forced to go
But had fun in the end after all
We sang 'The Tide is High'
With a bottle of wine in our hands
And we were talking 'til morning
Forgot about all our friends
And so I said
I think you're pretty cool
We should go out
You name it we can do it
Meet you in town
I like where this is going
We should go out
I like you is it showing?
We should go out
I've been thinking 'bout you lots lately
Found the postcard you sent
From your time away in Madrid
I saw online that you were moving here
Where together we shared
The day after that night before
Let's sing 'The Tide is High'
With a bottle of wine in our hands
And stay up talking 'til morning
Forget about all our friends
You know what?
I think you're pretty cool
We should go out
You name it we can do it
Meet you in town
I like where this is going
We should go out
I like you is it showing?
We should go out
You're free on Friday?
That's perfect for me
Are you down, now you know?
I think you're pretty cool
We should go out
You name it we can do it
Meet you in town
I like where this is going (I like where this is going baby)
We should go out
I like you is it showing?
We should go out
Go out

A truly stunning album that mentally transports you to foggy early morning streets, the pavement wet from recent rains. Dreary, but in a comforting way. Like sitting next to a window during a rainstorm, listening to the drops hit the glass while remaining warm. Never fails to make me feel safe. Crow Yo
Discovered Mia a few years ago and immediately fell head over heels in love with the album, so I knew I wanted this for my growing CD collection bikinigrrl
